RIVERWALK Groundbreaking Ceremony

RIVERWALK celebrated the beginning of construction with a groundbreaking ceremony on May 6th.

The sun shone and the water sparkled as Salem Mayor, Dominick Pangallo and State Representative, Manny Cruz each spoke a few words at the event.  In attendance were City Councellors Jeff Cohen, Andrew Varela, and Megan Stott as well as Police Chief Lucas Miller and the Salem Chamber of Commerce.

"I grew up maybe a quarter of a mile from here, played little league on that field, that was my playground...the Commonwealth needs 200,000 units to meet our housing needs.  This is a transformational project....proximity to the train station and to the downtown." Mayor Pangallo.

Manny Cruz also spoke, "A momentous occasion here in Salem where we address one of our most urgent needs, which is the need for more housing in our community.  I can't think of a better location than right here.  This is transit-oriented development in action.  It's exactly what we need here in Salem and throughout our Commonwealth.  The senator also sends her regards."  

State Representative Cruz then read an official citation stating that the Massachusetts House of Representatives offers, "It's sincerest congratulations in recognition of your Groundbreaking Ceremony for the RIVERWALK, the newest luxury condominiums in Salem, our entire membership extends its very best wishes and expressed the hope for future good fortune and continued success on all of your endeavors."
